  • When you're frustrated, please breathe first and speak second.

  • Breathe in for 3 seconds, and breathe out for 4 seconds. Repeat this for 1-2 minutes.

  • Consider how you can align with your coworker to accomplish the bigger goal, and respond accordingly.

Breathe First Speak Second

When you're upset, agitated, or confused, you can say things that may not be very helpful. They may, in fact, be harmful. Before speaking, please breathe in for 3 seconds, and breathe out for 4 seconds. Now, before responding, please consider how you can align with your coworker to accomplish the bigger goal. That's how you'll both win, regardless of who's "right" or "wrong" in the discussion.
